"If you believe in love at first sight, you'll never stop looking."
Falling in love is not a choice, it's an emotion. It's that giddy feeling you have, sparks flying, butterflies in the stomach kind of feeling. Over time it will fade.
So how does one keep a love alive when the sparks eventually die down? And what's the difference between falling in love and loving someone?
In the long-term, the "spark" will become deeper; it's a feeling of knowing that someone gives you emotional security, makes you feel good about yourself, depends on you and cares for you. This is what I call ‘love’ rather than ‘in love’. It becomes a commitment and a choice, rather than a fleeting emotion. This kind of love is a deeper, stronger kind of love.
